HOW TO DO IT

Standing with feet hip-width apart and slowly shifting weight from one foot to the other. A foundation balance exercise.

Verbal Cues

  • “Stand tall with feet hip-width apart”
  • “Shift your weight slowly onto one foot, then the other”
  • “Feel how your body adjusts”

What to Watch For

  • Trunk stays upright
  • Client doesn’t step out of position

Safety

Stand close to the client on their weaker side. A sturdy bench or wall rail must be within arm’s reach.
