Verbal Cues

  • “Walk along an imaginary line”
  • “Place the heel of one foot just in front of the toes of the other”
  • “Eyes forward, take it slow”

What to Watch For

  • Path stays narrow
  • Watch for swaying or steps out of line

Safety

Walk the client along a wall or kitchen counter they can reach for. Clear the path of rugs, cords, pets, and trip hazards.
