Standing tall and rising up onto the toes, then lowering with control. Strengthens the calves for walking, climbing stairs, and balance.
Verbal Cues
- “Stand tall holding onto support if needed”
- “Push up onto your toes as high as you can”
- “Lower slowly, all the way down”
What to Watch For
- Check both heels rise to the same height
- Client isn’t leaning forward onto the support
Safety
Stand close to the client. A sturdy bench, kitchen counter, or wall rail should be within arm’s reach for fingertip support, not a wheeled chair or anything that can slide.
