A squat with one foot forward and one back, lowering the back knee straight down. Strengthens each leg on its own.

Verbal Cues

  • “One foot forward, one back, like a long stride”
  • “Lower the back knee straight down”
  • “Push through the front heel to come back up”

What to Watch For

  • Front knee tracks over the foot, not collapsing inward
  • Trunk stays upright

Safety

Stand close to the client. A sturdy bench or wall rail must be within arm’s reach until balance is steady.
