Verbal Cues
- “Stand with feet shoulder-width apart”
- “Sit your hips back like you’re sitting into a chair”
- “Push through the ground to stand up”
What to Watch For
- Check the knees stay over the toes
- Trunk stays upright
Safety
Stand close to the client. The chair or bench behind them must be against a wall so it cannot slide back when they sit. Make sure the floor is clear of rugs and the client is wearing shoes with grip.
