HOW TO DO IT

Lying on the side with a band looped above the knees, the client lifts the top knee while keeping the feet together. Strengthens the side of the hip for walking and balance.

Verbal Cues

  • “Stack your knees and hips on top of each other”
  • “Keep your feet together and lift the top knee”
  • “Don’t let your hips roll backwards”

What to Watch For

  • Check the hips stay stacked and don’t roll back
  • Top knee only lifts as far as the hips can stay still
