HOW TO DO IT

Standing with feet hip-width apart, the client reaches their arms forward over a table and returns.

Verbal Cues

  • “Stand tall with feet hip-width apart”
  • “Reach forward as far as feels comfortable, then slowly come back”
  • “Keep a slight bend in your knees”

What to Watch For

  • Watch for any loss of balance or leaning too far forward
  • Make sure a support is within arm’s reach

Safety

Stand close to the client on their weaker side. Make sure to do this over the top of a sturdy bench or table.
