Standing with one foot directly in front of the other, heel touching toes. Trains balance with the narrowest base of support.

Verbal Cues

  • “Heel of one foot directly in front of toes of the other”
  • “Eyes forward, stand tall”
  • “Hold steady”

What to Watch For

  • Time the hold
  • Watch for swaying or needing support

Safety

Stand close to the client on their weaker side. A sturdy bench or wall rail must be within arm’s reach.
