Standing on one leg for the set time, with light fingertip support if needed. Builds the single-leg balance used for walking and stairs.

Verbal Cues

  • “Stand on one leg, light fingertip support if needed”
  • “Look straight ahead, stand tall”
  • “Hold for the time set”

What to Watch For

  • Time the hold
  • Watch for hip drop, swaying or grabbing support

Safety

Stand close to the client on their weaker side. A sturdy bench or wall rail must be within arm’s reach.
