Single Leg Calf Raise

HOW TO DO IT

Standing on one leg and rising up onto the toes, then lowering with control. Builds calf strength for stairs and walking.

Verbal Cues

  • “Stand on one leg, light hand support for balance”
  • “Push up onto your toes as high as you can”
  • “Lower slowly all the way down”

What to Watch For

  • Heel rises high
  • Foot doesn’t roll inward or outward

Safety

Stand close to the client on their weaker side. A sturdy bench or wall rail must be within arm’s reach.
