Standing tall with both feet pressed together and holding for the set time. Trains static balance with a narrow base of support.
Verbal Cues
- “Bring your feet together so they’re touching”
- “Stand tall and look straight ahead”
- “Try to hold for the time set”
What to Watch For
- Time the hold and note any swaying
- Watch for knees buckling or stepping out of position
Safety
Stand close to the client on their weaker side. A sturdy bench, kitchen counter, or wall rail must be within arm’s reach, not a wheeled chair or anything that can slide. Make sure the floor is clear.
