Lying on the back, holding one arm overhead and the opposite leg out long while keeping the lower back pressed down. Builds core strength through the trunk.

Verbal Cues

  • “Reach the opposite arm and leg long”
  • “Squeeze your belly tight, don’t let your back arch”
  • “Breathe normally throughout”

What to Watch For

  • Watch for the back arching off the floor
  • Arms and legs straight without locking joints
  • Focus on deep exhales
