Sitting tipping the head sideways so the ear moves towards the shoulder. Loosens tight side-of-neck muscles.
Verbal Cues
- “Sit or stand tall, shoulders relaxed”
- “Take your ear down towards your shoulder”
- “Don’t lift your shoulder up to your ear”
What to Watch For
- Shoulders should stay level
- Movement is slow and controlled
Safety
Move the head slowly, as quick neck movements can trigger dizziness in older clients. Sit them down at the first sign of light-headedness.
