HOW TO DO IT

Sitting tipping the head sideways so the ear moves towards the shoulder. Loosens tight side-of-neck muscles.

Verbal Cues

  • “Sit or stand tall, shoulders relaxed”
  • “Take your ear down towards your shoulder”
  • “Don’t lift your shoulder up to your ear”

What to Watch For

  • Shoulders should stay level
  • Movement is slow and controlled

Safety

Move the head slowly, as quick neck movements can trigger dizziness in older clients. Sit them down at the first sign of light-headedness.
